Not Your Granny’s Rocker is a celebration of furniture and woodwork created by MassArt BFA, MFA, Continuing Education and Furniture Design Certificate students, faculty, staff, and alumni and our North Bennet Street School partners.
The MassArt woodshop has long been a place to experiment, explore and execute work. Creations include furniture, musical instruments, giant sculptures, whole houses, small carved items and more. In the woodshop, BFA, MFA, continuing education and Furniture Design Certificate students exchange ideas, philosophies and technical skills from their own areas of expertise.
This show celebrates the cross-pollination between our own programs along with the crossover with programs at the North Bennet Street School. Students and faculty alike have moved back and forth between the two very different and complementary schools for years. The result is an ever changing and evolving sense of mutual appreciation and respect that can be seen in the works by our students and community members.
